How it all started...

 

Annette Brady:
I commenced my working career at The Royal Bank of Scotland in Bishopsgate – London, working in the credit clearing department for two years before moving on to work for a stockbrokers.

 

Realising that banks and trading on the markets was not my forte I went to a London recruitment agency to seek an alternative career and was offered a position within the company. I had found my niche and, within a year, was promoted to Manager of two of their London branches.

 

Six years on I was approached to run another agency in Ilford on a part-time basis until 1987 when I went back to full-time employment as a partner of a London recruitment agency, before moving to Jersey.

 

To find my feet on the Island I worked as a secretary for a trust company until opening a local recruitment agency in 1996 with one partner and five staff. Over a period of seven years the agency established a desirable reputation, becoming a front runner amongst the industry on Jersey.

 

In 2003 I sold my part of the business with a view to tread the fresh path of establishing an agency that I had full control over as sole Director. Finally, in October 2004, The Independent Recruitment Consultants (IRC) was born.
